Learning Opportunities
We are seeking Performance Interns to join our team and gain knowledge and experience working in a highly skilled strength, conditioning, group / team training environment.
As a Sports Performance Intern, you will:
-
Shadow, observe, and participate in the performance programming and services we offer our athletes ranging from youth, middle school, high school, collegiate an adults.

Participate in lectures and presentations that are surrounding our specific strategies we use to enhance human performance and walk away with an understanding on how to implement.

The Ideal Candidate would be:
-
Receiving college credit through undergraduate, or graduate classes
-
Eligible for work in the USA.
-
Enrolled in a associate, bachelors program or master’s program specializing in sport science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise science, etc
-
Able to dedicate 8-12 hours/week worth of work for the 10-12 weeks
-
Interested in the field of Human Performance
-
Proficient with Anatomy
-
Computer Literate-Word and Excel
-
An excellent communicator
-
Detail Oriented
-
Proactive and action oriented
-
Certified in First Aid/CPR for the duration of the internship term
Physical Requirements:
-
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday.

Frequent walking around and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily.

An internship at LAB Sports Performance will present you with the opportunity to experience hands-on, individualized, small group and team training. Each intern will have the chance to coach youth, high school, collegiate athletes as well as adults of varies ages. During the internship you will become more familiar with the knowledge of program design, exercises queuing.

As a LAB intern, you would have the opportunity to compliment your hands-on learning experience with participation in our our weekly Staff In-Service, which focuses on continuing education in a classroom-style learning environment. We work closely with our internship participants to develop coaching, assessment and program-design skill sets to compliment career aspirations within the fitness industry.
Additionally, all interns are provided with LAB apparel.
Expectations of all Applicants

Demonstrate a knowledge of training techniques

Must be comfortable interacting with clients, parents, etc.

Present yourself in a manner that will reinforce your status as a role model for impressionable young athletes
Internship Schedule

LAB Sports Performance internships are scheduled according to traditional academic semesters and summer vacation. Interns are asked to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week throughout the duration of their program.
